5. MS Teams and Zoom with Jabra Direct

Jabra SDK and USB HID
Zoom uses Jabra Direct to ingrate with Jabra SDK.

MS Teams uses device integration with USB HID via Standard Telephony Usage Page. Jabra Direct provides devices integration with Jabra SDK for Zoom. Due to this, Zoom is using GN Telephony Usage Page.

With this, each UC Client is communicating via a different usage page. Each client has its own communication channel.

Automatic Actions

The incoming call triggers several automatic actions:

Steps Automatic Action
Step 1) - Zoom acquires the Call lock successfully. It is not aware of the active call on MS Teams. MS Teams, on the other hand, does not recognize a Call Lock in Jabra SDK.
Step 2) - Zoom sends a ringing signal to the device. But the device does not ring because it is busy with an active call of MS Teams. This is consistent.
Step 3) - The device remembers, that it was supposed to ring. This will automatically trigger the ringer once the active call ends.

Note: The device does not ring, because it is already active on Standard Telephony Usage Page with Teams. It thus does not react to the control signals from Zoom send via GN Telephony Usage Page. Using different Usage Pages prevents unwanted interference in this case.
