4. MS Teams and Zoom without Jabra Direct

Microsoft Teams for Windows and Zoom Desktop Client for Windows both use USB HID for device integration. Zoom is able to detect a running Teams client on the same system. It will disable device integration for the Zoom client when MS Teams is running.

This minimizes unwanted interference between both UC Clients a which are caused by the limitations of USB HID. As an unwanted side effect, Zoom is not able to control the device any more.

It depends on the use case, if the missing device integration has a negative effect or not. Please compare the subsequent two variations of a use case.

4a. Active Call on MS Teams, Incoming Call on Zoom

Zoom vs. MS Teams
This use case works fine without hardware button functionality for Zoom.

MS Teams has an active call, Zoom has an incoming call.

Hardware Ringer

The device is not able to receive control signals from UC Clients. UC Clients are thus not able trigger the hardware ringer. That the device does not ring is randomly consistent for this specific use case.

For other use cases, it would be required to trigger the hardware ringer via UC Client.

This use case is consistent, because it neither requires Hardware Buttons or the Hardware Ringer for Zoom.

4b. Incoming Call for Zoom

Zoom vs. MS Teams
With just one incoming call on Zoom, the device should ring.

In contrast to the previous use case, this variant has only one incoming call on Zoom.

Hardware Ringer

The hardware ringer does not ring because Device integration is missing. This is inconsistent system behaviour. There is no active call blocking the device, it should ring.
